Hello! I’m Kirin. A Brownswell.

Often the only Desi immigrant womxn at the spiritual retreat asking "How do I use manifestation to dismantle Racism?" Or the only one at the Gurdwara with family asking, "If our religion says we are all equal why do men and women sit on opposite sides of the temple?" Or the only one in my activist circles saying "Let's lead with forgiveness not call out culture as we dismantle white supremacy."

I live in the margins. A place where you see things others don't - darkness in "light" places, light in "dark" places the gaps or a new way.

On my path towards healing and becoming a healer I ached to find teachers that could help me make sense of how to navigate the deep nuanced edge waters of our world and within myself. The oceanic shelf where familiar turquoise blue waters of privileged self help, tradition or rigid activism fell off into a deep abyss.

How do I truly be a light in this darkness without a guide?

Of course the answer was within me, bigger than me, right beside me in the soils, plants and waters of the marginal world along with magical allies swimming next to me. Each their own Brownswell - of the earth, fire air and water. Together we swam around guided by the beat of our hearts - whispering "I see you" while we stumbled to see ourselves. Over time our heartbeats turned to currents that converged into a swell churning deep below now rising up from the margins to dance with turquoise blue waters to transform our shores.

How I work

I come from a long lineage of earth based Punjabi healers and activists. I carry my lineage forward as a student and servant of the earth, nurturing a movement of Seasoned Leaders - change-makers and organizations curious to learn from the earth, seasons and one another how to deeply heal ourselves in order to restore balance and justice in our communities, earth and systems. With nature and community as the primary teacher, my students receive a visceral guide on how to transform toxic cycles of work fed by burn-out, fixing, colonial norms and urgency, into leadership that regenerates. My medicine is simple yet profound. I welcome you into my heart, into a community of caring humxns, into a breathtaking relationship with the earth and yourself.

“Kirin is unlike anyone I've ever met. She breathes love, sings wisdom, meets every person in their brightest part. She is the living definition of a medicine womxn.”

- Jeeven Singh, Healer www.flowerhandwellness.com

“Kirin Bhatti has a gift for embracing the holistic and the complex, while at the same time providing discerning and direct guidance. As a community artist and activist with perfectionist tendencies I am constantly weeding through what is expected of me, what is true to me and cycles of burn-out. Kirin activates my best self by challenging and supporting me to live in my highest truth, integrity, and my most joyful being. Under her deeply compassionate counsel, I can say with resolution that I am walking my path making the impact I seek with more courage, faith, ease and understanding of myself, my gifts and my purpose.”

- Huameng Yu, Community Artist and Activist

“Kirin is an inspired healer who brings unique joy, creativity, playfulness, deep listening, and thinking outside-of-the-box and conventional wisdom, into her amazing practice. I admire her combination of keen intellect and huge bouyant heart. It's obvious she has done abundant, fruitful self work and learning. Kirin embodies a new cultural shift where skillful, self-radiant, supportive, welcoming, innovative, deeply renewing healers are showing up to help mend beings affected by generations of inherited distress. I am so grateful for Kirin Bhatti.”

- Gair Hemphill Crutcher, Community Elder

“Kirin truly is a gift, she did nothing short of save my life! I was the lead on opening a community center and for months could barely get out of bed. I was forwarded an email she wrote to her community and immediately new I needed to work with her. I feel so fortunate I did. Within a month of working with Kirin I felt so strong, powerful and free knowing she was by my side during a life changing time filled with uncertainty. She held space for me to heal and shine a light during a difficult yet beautiful process. Over the last couple of years, I tried to do the work alone. I would go in and out of periods of time feeling so unbelievably disconnected from myself and living a life that just never really fit. Now working with Kirin, I know that I am on a path to true alignment and making decisions from my heart and intuition instead of from social acceptance/validation from others. I'm so excited to continue working with her and to see what will continue to unfold.”

- Natasha Azizi, Community Organizer and Healer

“Kirin's work has supported me in moving towards healing on so many levels - as a survivor, it's helped me recognize so many ways in which I'm triggered by lack of choice - from work to friendships to family. I've been held through a healing process that is sometimes painful but mostly release and celebration. The gentleness of this digging in has been one of the most surprising parts of the work for me. As an organizer, the work has helped me get way more real about my capacity, and recognize that doing 10 things badly and at low capacity is not even close to as meaningful for the movement as doing 3 things well and with presence. In my work at Reed, it's allowed me to hold my students' and colleagues' anxiety, fear, grief, anger without depleting my own energy, and to pause, feel into what they really are needing from me, rather than jumping to my own conclusions or fixes. It's seriously transformed my ability to work with people and maintain my own energy and being.”
